Prague's Pavement - detail blown glass - 1985 25 x 249 x 120 cm Above all I consider everything that is involved in work with sculptural material, what becomes part of our memory (myths, history, a subjective memory, the tradition and heritage of previous generations) to be part of my living present. I realise that this very memory, if it is being perceived through the activity of the natural elements, forms the unity of the past and the present. And it is exactly this balance of the past and the beauty as well as the grandeur of the nature that provides the infinite source for my own work and perception of the world. DV
